新竹縣人文客家餐館桂花園，是已故新埔老鎮長潘錦河的故宅，這棟從日治時代改建，以洋樓形式保存，極具文史價值，2004年由潘家友人彭錦和接手，轉型為客家料理餐館，老洋樓歷經歲月滄桑，用餐的饕客仿佛走入舊往時光。
潘宅洋樓是日治昭和5年，由潘錦河所改建，至今已有80年以上歷史，彭錦和喜愛古物，曾透過潘家後人收集了部分潘錦河的文物，爾後因這些古物，又再牽線帶著他進駐潘家洋樓經營餐廳。
這棟建築物融合歐、日、台式風格，陳列老板床、古唱機、傳統文物等，當年民眾走過老鎮長家，就會聞到窗外一股桂花香味，在地新埔人都會有一段伴著香氣繚繞的記憶。因此，彭錦和接手後，轉型為人文餐館，命名為「桂花園」，吸引不少民眾前來用餐，在古色古香的環境中，品嘗在地的客家菜。
桂花園提供客家菜為主，其中黑豆化骨豬腳、芋頭鴨、紅麴炒飯、客家米苔目、野薑花蛋等都是熱門料理，地址：新竹縣新埔鎮中正路405號，電話：03-588-2005，每周三晚上公休。
